EBSCO Training Specialist Katy Ginanni, M.L.S., has been named editor for SR Visits, a regular column in Serials Review. In this post, Katy (or authors she selects) will visit libraries, report on collections and conduct interviews with librarians.

In the past, column features have included the NPR Library, Washington, D.C.; the Immigration Research Center, Minneapolis, Minn., and the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, N.J., among others.

"Katy represents a depth and breadth of experience that makes her role as a column editor for SR an exciting one," said Serials Review Editor Connie Foster. "As a librarian, world traveler and training specialist, Katy brings exciting dimensions to SR Visits. We welcome her creativity, initiative and contacts that will provide readers with many interesting visits to unusual collections. Katy is active in serials organizations and is always approachable and extremely knowledgeable. We are honored to have her!"

Katy Ginanni received her M.L.S. in 1987. Her work in libraries was primarily in the area of serials acquisitions, and included positions at Vanderbilt University, Auburn University and Old Dominion University. In 1992, Ginanni joined EBSCO as an Account Services Manager. In that capacity, she called on customers in the Southeastern U.S., helping to customize EBSCO's services with libraries' needs.

After seven years with EBSCO, Ginanni joined the Peace Corps. She served for eight months in Zimbabwe, but was evacuated from her school in April 2000 when it was determined that political tensions in the country made it unsafe to be stationed in rural areas. Upon her return to the U.S., Ginanni rejoined EBSCO as a Training Specialist, providing training for EBSCO's Web-based services to both EBSCO personnel and EBSCO customers.
