NoveList® Now Features First Chapters for Many Book Titles

IPSWICH, Mass. - August 29, 2006 - EBSCO Publishing is excited to announce that its award-winning NoveList® readers' advisory service now lets users preview the first chapters of thousands of included book titles.

Provided by the Dial-A-Book Chapter One Program, first chapters are provided for a broad range of books spanning most genres with an emphasis on recent and popular titles. Coverage includes selections from most major publishers including Hatchett, Random House, and Harper Collins. Works from library-friendly publishers like Algonquin Books and several university presses are also included. With more than 14,000 first chapters available in NoveList, fiction readers can determine whether or not they may enjoy a book without having to have a copy in hand.

According to NoveList founder and creator Duncan Smith, "More and more library users are making book choices from home. This new feature empowers readers to make informed choices ensuring that a trip to the library delivers a good read."

In the near future, first chapters will also be provided for thousands of titles listed in Book Index with Reviews™ (available via EBSCOhost®) allowing an institution's non-fiction readers to make better reading choices.
