EBSCO Information Services’ Southern African Office Strengthens Team with New Business Development Consultant
Petro van der Berg Named Business Development Consultant at EBSCO South Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa – Feb. 9, 2007 –EBSCO Information Services, the world’s leading service provider for e-journal, e-package and print subscriptions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Petro van der Berg to the position of business development consultant. In her new role, Petro will be in charge of further developing EBSCO’s sales operations with South African libraries and companies to address their electronic and print resource access and management needs. She will report to Katy Ginanni, sales manager, EBSCO Southern Africa.

Prior to joining EBSCO, Petro was information librarian in Client Services at the University of Johannesburg, Doornfontein Campus, for more than 15 years. Previously, she served as information librarian at the Boksburg Public Library.

Fluent in English and Afrikaans, Petro also speaks German and has studied communications and communications law.

“With her extensive knowledge of libraries and proven commitment to customer service, Petro will definitely be an active force in assisting EBSCO to give the highest quality service to its customers. Petro makes a wonderful addition to the EBSCO sales team,” Ginanni said.

“I’m looking forward to using my experience in providing library users with solutions to help librarians find solutions that are available from EBSCO,” Van der Berg said.
