About EBSCO Contact Us Site Map News Releases

EBSCO Publishing has acquired CommSearch from the National Communication Association (NCA), the oldest and largest national organization to promote communication scholarship and education. CommSearch is a scholarly communication database with deep, archival coverage of the journals of the NCA and other journals in the field of communication studies. With its inclusion in EBSCO's collection of databases, CommSearch will provide an invaluable source of communication research with the advantages of the powerful EBSCOhost search interface.

Currently, CommSearch contains bibliographic and keyword references to 26 journals in communication studies with coverage extending to the inaugural issue of each -- some from as far back as the early decades of the 20th century. The database also includes cover-to-cover indices of NCA's six journals from their first editions to the present and abstracts from their earliest appearance in NCA journals.

To offer a comprehensive communication reference resource, EBSCO will significantly expand the abstracting and indexing coverage of appropriate titles in CommSearch, as well as add abstracting and indexing for many more of the important titles in the communication field. In addition, EBSCO plans to create a separate, complementary full text communication database, containing the full text of NCA's six journals and other scholarly communication titles, to provide the most thorough coverage of the subject area available.
