EBSCO Publishing and NewsBank Form Integrated Search Partnership

—EBSCOhost^® Facilitates Integrated Search of NewsBank Databases for Mutual Customers

IPSWICH, Mass., USA – Aug. 14, 2008 – Customers subscribing to databases from EBSCOhost^®and NewsBank will be able to easily link to NewsBank results using the EBSCOhost interface based on an agreement between the two companies. Through integrated search technology imbedded in EBSCOhost, mutual subscribers will be able to access results from NewsBank after launching a search in EBSCOhost. The service is free to mutual customers of both EBSCOhost and NewsBank full-text news databases.

–EBSCO Publishing Expands the Definitive Research Databases for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies

IPSWICH, Mass., USA – July 30, 2008 – Researchers studying lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues in EBSCOhost^®have access to additional information. More than 45,000 relevant records selected from Sexual Diversity Studies have been incorporated into the EBSCOhost database — LGBT Life^®and its full-text counterpart LGBT Life^®with Full Text. Sexual Diversity Studies was previously available from National Information Services Corporation (NISC).

EBSCO Publishing and Alexander Street Press are allowing their mutual library customers to link from the research database RILM Abstracts of Music Literature (RILM) in EBSCOhost^® to music supplied by Classical Music Library from Alexander Street Press. This partnership will allow customers of both services to better take advantage of the articles in RILM and be able to listen to audio components from the composer of the works they are researching.
